A further public consultation event was held on 14th February 2020 at the Birchington Centre, attended by 530 people.
The illustrative masterplan was presented to the local community with exhibition boards providing detailed information for residents prior to the submission of the application with consultants available during the consultation event detailing how the consultation events impacted on the illustrative masterplan.
A workshop was held at Quex Park attended by a variety of local stakeholders which included Thanet District Councillors, Birchington Parish Councillors, the Birchington Neighbourhood Plan team, Birchington Traders Group representatives, local schools, Birchington Medical Centre representatives and interested members of the public.
A site tour was organised before the workshop to help inform discussions and ensure attendees had the opportunity to view the site with a detailed tour led by the project team. Attendees learnt more about the site features, the associated opportunities and constraints.
We were delighted to host our own Public Consultation Event on the Thursday 3rd October and Friday 4th October 2019 at the Birchington Centre.
This event was very well attended with nearly 800 residents having the opportunity to find out more about our plans and register their feedback, which will be analysed and reviewed to help shape the final proposals.
The Ptarmigan Land and Millwood Project Team were delighted to take part in the Birchington Neighbourhood Plan Community Design Day hosted on the 6th June at All Saints Church. This event was very well attended with over 200 residents having the opportunity to share their own ideas and aspirations for the future of the village.
Eight workshop tables gave a dynamic space for contributions and a collaborative spirit allowed ideas to flourish as residents’ young and old engaged to inform the emerging Neighbourhood Plan.
We were grateful for the opportunity to attend and look forward to further consultation with the Neighbourhood Plan team and other key stakeholders as the proposals for South West Birchington-on-Sea evolve.
